The legendary Cleopatra Records presents the new EP postpunk / synthwave duet SYZYGY X. However, not only the postpunk and synthwave genre made this release. Hex'n Equinox reflects such obvious sources as the composer's genius Carpenter, Trent Reznor's post-industrial innovation and the rebellious spirit of the 80s / 90s. But in SYZYGYX it is poured into a witchhouse form. Forcing Blinding Lights merge into an ephemeral retro synth / vapor wave with electroclash motifs, spacemaker Ode to Andromedae has a perfectly logical space ambient sci-fi outfit, and Wasted Youth following them combines these two retrospectives with one dark pop denominator.
Missing Time represents the retrospective of its most radical form, while the Blood Moon is responsible for the horror release theme and, accordingly, for the John Carpenter hopper. Phantom Power is also an alien from the world of dark synth and sci-fi, and the final Abduction Phase.y calling to Ode to Andromedae creates the integrity of the Hex'n Equinox narration.
It is still unusual to see releases like Hex'n Equinox on Cleopatra Records, but the general trend is good. SYZYGYX has the potential, the skill of working in various adjacent genres - over time they can “mutate” into anything. And such “flexibility” is now very helpful.
